Model 7002 Talkboard

Boehringer labs is pleased to offer a solution to the need for a means of simple communication in the ICU. With the help of Jan Blomefield of St. Louis and Gisella Thomas of San diego we have developed an uncomplicated, yet effective, method for allowing the patient to relay messages when unable to speak or write. One side of the board lists 146 common words while the other side lists the alphabet and the numbers 0-9. Also shown is is a human figure for pinpointing the location of a pain, for example. The Talkboard is constructed of orange HDPE (high density polyethylene) with durable black epoxy lettering. The board is 113/8" high and 143/8" wide. It weighs only 6 ozs. and can be wiped clean with Cidex. Also available is an English-Spanish version (model 7003) listing the same 146 words with their Spanish translations adjacent to each. This version is a turqoise colored HDPE.
